Trick or Treat

Trick or Treat

Kate finally got into it after about 10 houses. She was very selective on which houses she wanted to go to based on how many lights were on and if she liked the looks of the house in the dark. Little Scaredy Cat!

Mmm... chocolate
Let's see what I got for chocolate... When we got home and it was our turn to hand out candy, Kate was scared and would run and hide in our bedroom.

Pre-school Halloween Parade

Kate the Kitty and Ellie the Wonder Woman with Lachlan the Dinosaur. These girls were too cute today!
 Meow...
Miss Essi, the African Princess, and Kate, the Kitty

Kate was so happy during the parade until she saw me and realized she wasn't going with me.
Kate started stomping her feet and roaring like a Lion. I had to remind her she was a kitty and needed to meow!

Pumpkin Carving

"Say Pumpkins" ... Someone was a little excited to carve pumpkins tonight.
We even got Daddy in there, even though he despises it.
Ready for the "unveiling" of the inside?
Kate got about three seeds out before she decided she was good.
She was more into poking holes in the pumpkin to guide where we needed to cut it.

Resorting to painting after helping Mommy for about two minutes.
Nothing like a pumpkin to match Kate's costume tomorrow night. She is very excited to be a kitty cat! She has been practicing "trick or treat" all week and reminding me she gets lots of chocolate after she rings the doorbell and says "trick or treat." We will see how much we get home or if she wants to eat it as we go from house to house. She was tuckered out tonight and ready to get a good night sleep tonight for her big day ... Halloween Parade at school and out in the neighborhood tomorrow night.

Gophers v. Huskers

Tony's dreams finally came true this past weekend! We had our Nebraska family in town for the Gopher v. Husker game. We never thought we'd see the day where we beat the Huskers AND on our own turf. Tony claims it was the burning of his Gophers boxers in the bonfire on Friday night that changed the Husker winning streak since 1960.

Allie, our cousin, sat down on the 50 yard line with our Uncle Tommie and Tony and me.
Gophers stop the Huskers and the crowd goes wild

I think Tony will rush the field until he is 80 when the Gophers have this kind of victory!

Tom, the pessimist, wasn't going to believe the win until the clock struck 0:00. He is actually a realist, as the Gophers have always found a way to blow it in the last few seconds of a game.

Girls Weekend

While Tony was hunting with his brother Dave in South Dakota and Kelly was golfing with some buddies in Northern Minnesota, Brooke and her girls came to visit Kate and me. We had a great slumber party and getting to see the true colors come out in our girls.

We attempted to go to "Lily's Plastic Purple Purse" at Hopkins Stage Children's Theater. About one minute into dimming the lights and the main character, a mouse, coming onto stage, Kate was not having it. The mouse scared her and she was crying and saying all done. Reese and Delaney did great! Kate and I waited outside in the lobby and colored until the play was over. She still talks about not liking the mouse and not wanting to see the mouse.

Multi-purpose Use

For the first time, I had one of those moments of what happens when I wasn't watching Kate at all times. What?!? Why not dump my cheerios into my rain boot and eat them? She was so proud when I came around the corner and there were Cheerios all over the floor and her boot was entirely filled up.

Switzerland Visit

Our Goddaughter visited from Switzerland this month! It is hard to believe she is 9 years old at the end of November. We had a nice time celebrating her birthday while she and her family where here visiting. She is a sweet, beautiful girl...

Community Month

October has been Community Worker Month at pre-school. Kate loves dressing up and getting into the different characters ....
