Hola from the Dominican Republic

We ventured off to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for a week's vacation just the three of us. It was the perfect family getaway.

Kate started off her first morning in our bed eating cereal and watching cartoons, something she never gets to do at home. It was the first for many things... that's what vacations are for!
Round Two of breakfast at our hotel. Kate caught on that Daddy's name is Tony. When Tony wouldn't respond to Daddy, Kate would walk around our yelling "Tony" clear as day. It made us both chuckle. She has carried it home from DR. When it is time for bed, she is yelling, "Tony" from her room to come and give her a kiss goodnight.
Water balloons were a hit by the kids pool...
A mermaid joined the kids in the pool to play with the water balloons. Kate was wondering who she was, as you can see by the way she is looking at her.
Kate was all about looking at the water and the beach but that was the extent of it.
We had a hut on our patio... It became a morning ritual for Kate and Tony to sit in the hut and eat cereal/drink coffee and talk.
Fun in the sun... That's the smile we love.
We graduated from being held to sitting on a towel in the sand. It is the only way Kate would sit in the sand. Dirt and Kate do not go together. She would barely get in the swimming pool, especially when she would see a tiny speck of a leaf or dirt floating in the water.

She had no problem lounging in her own beach chair under the huts at the beach. She was saying, "oh...wa" to everyone that walked by. It was her form of "Hola."

Another first... Sugar cereal.... Froot Loops were her favorite. Papa would be proud.

This hotel knew how to cater to children. They left cookies and chocolate milk one night for a snack before bed. They made a bubble bath one night and left balloons in her crib another night. Amazing.
The Kids Zone had a great playroom to keep the kids busy when we needed to get out of the sun. The Kid's Lounge was also a hit. Daily lunch and ice cream was served for the children.
Ping Pong anyone?
The Guitar was her favorite toy in the Kids Zone. A lot of singing and dancing to wear her down.
We ran into belly dancers in the lobby on our way back from dinner one night. Kate was an absolute riot putting her dancing skills to work.

Someone was exhausted on the plane and slept for 2.5 hours of the 6 hour plane ride. She was an absolute angel the entire trip. We are very grateful for our time together.
